I could connect it to my computer and back it up or copy files, but only because it was already authorized. Honestly, it’s the very first thing I do when I get a new phone because more than once, I’ve had a phone that had a busted screen but still worked. But, to do that, I have to authorize my phone with iTunes on my PC first before anything can connect to it. And I sometimes use a third-party file manager ( in my case, iFunBox) to copy photos and videos over to my computer because iCloud for Windows can be cantankerous. I also like to keep a local backup of my iPhone in addition to my iCloud backup. I don’t use iTunes, but I often charge my phone on my PC’s USB port.
